Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️

I met my bestie on the subway 23 yrs ago and have been lucky to share a great journey together.

Another reason to take the 🚇 or 🚌. You can’t meet your future sitting in traffic by yourself.

Let me know if you have any fun transit love stories.

Metro Ridership continues to grow!

Biggest Feb day in 6 yrs, highest day ever @ NoMa Station, almost 1m🚇🚌/day.

Traffic is getting worse and worse, join those in the know and speed past all those stuck in their cars.

Thanks for riding America’s Metro System.

In response to feedback, we are updating the way we communicate bus delays related to operator availability. Instead of describing the cause, we will now focus on the estimated timing for resolution. For example, customers may see “expect delays until 9:05 a.m.” (1/2)

Metro kept the region moving last week, delivering more than 2.9 million trips during and after the snow and ice storm. While cars were snowed in, Metro continued to provide service - demonstrating the value of transit in our region! 💪

Salt residue from outside + very cold temperatures followed by warm, moist air = slick conditions at some of our stations. Our team is on top of it - scrubbing, mopping, and vacuuming floors with dry vacs. Please be cautious and mindful of any wet floor signs.

It's #BlackHistoryMonth! We honor the contributions of Black leaders who shape our transit system.

Carmen E. Turner, former Metro GM (1983-1990), was the first Black woman to lead a major transit system.

She expanded Metro from 42 miles & 47 stations to 73 miles & 63 stations.

Thx for feedback. I’ve sent to team to investigate.

We talk about bus bunching especially on 14th street a lot & we are working to be better. Some of this is storm street conditions etc. Also working to make transponder data better. This corridor is critical and we need to be more consistent.

With challenging roads & lower ridership buses may experience bunching & gaping. @wmata.com 🚌 may also appear in real time tracking because they are idling keeping warm at terminals. We’ve been actively working to reduce real time tracking issues so customers have accurate info.

Better Bus also means better bus shelters. We changed the way we do bus shelters so we can do them for significantly less cost, get more shelters completed & have them done faster. Team is focused on all elements to improve the customer experience.
