Australia could replace carbon-intensive exports with green iron and quadruple earnings, a report says, but it needs to act soon and decisively to seize the opportunity.
‘Introducing a green iron production tax credit of $170 per tonne could temporarily address the lack of a carbon price, the report found, while grants of up to 30 per cent could help to establish early green iron projects.’ #GreenIron

#GreenIron should be made where it makes sense, in a renewable-energy driven economy and then be transported to where the #GreenSteel can be produced.
Beyond Europe there are countries, like Australia, Canada, Brazil and South Africa, with potential for green briquetted iron (HBI) production.
