It also makes me consider how ineffective and non-enduring willpower based changes that target the reactionary behavior are. They do not get at the underlying cause, the emotion itself.
I believe that, because the underlying cause of the reaction is gone, that the reactionary behavior just fades away over time all by itself.
There is a really curious time after an emotional knot clearing, where the habitual momentum of a behavior used to manage the emotion (usually distraction in my case) is still in place, yet the underlying emotion is gone.
*ahem* *clears throat*

We are living in the greatest syncretism the world has ever seen by a crazy factor. It’s so good to be alive right now.
And then the question I love: What will be the enduring cultural outputs of our current syncretism period?
We are rediscovering the simplest thing, “being with”. Yet, so much culture must be unwound to get there.
