Democratic Wins Media on Substack BREAKING: Pete Buttigieg just laid out the best case yet for the future of the Democratic party. This is incredible.

Yes @petebuttigieg.bsky.social. I love you. Want to vote for you. And… you have got to have a story about how you will RAISE WAGES for the American Middle. I say it has to be a pro-business industrial policy plus education reform to bring hi skills. What do you say?

Sorry, but I think this is a very blinkered neo-Marxist view. Of course we have male dominance in many fields-and our job is to evolve out of that. The idea that “the men” somehow monolithically invented religion to “control women” seems paranoid. Monoliths “the men” and “the women” do not exist.

Trump’s Tirades Aren’t Swaying Putin The president stamping his feet on social media will do nothing to quell Russia's aims.

Trump is hopeless when it comes to Putin - whom he both fears and admires as the Renfield to Putin's Dracula - but he has no effective national security or defense team around him to pick up the slack and actually run anything like an actual foreign policy.

Exactly my point. Tariffs are a disaster. But #theopposition needs a plan to counter Trump’s disastrous message. I say an industrial policy to bring in hi wage jobs snd and education reform to train for them is the best option I see, but no one is advocating that - as far as I can tell.

This is a shockingly mistaken understanding of due process by Stephen Miller. It is likely this misunderstanding that is informing the President’s misunderstanding.

The Democratic Party's Path Forward Primary Democrats are offering competing visions for how the party can rebuild—whose will prevail?

What NONE of these people have is a plan to raise wages for the working middle class. I say the answer is industrial policy plus education reform. Trump owns this space with tariffs - crap policy but Dems need a clear answer. Get with it #leadersoftheopposition

Judge strikes down Trump order punishing law firm Perkins Coie President Donald Trump has targeted several law firms with penalties, four of which sued to challenge his actions.

Damn right. Any executuve order targeting one organisation for political disagreement is patently illegal and unconstitutional. Shame on the others firms who have caved to Trump. The Supreme Court should confirm, shameful other agreements be rescinded. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

A vision of the future: in every country, there is a partnership among business, government and education to foster great companies offering hi-skill, high wage jobs in a socially responsible way, and to teach and train citizens to claim those jobs. #dumpTrump

A vision of the future: the President of the United States truly believes in, honours the constitution & the rule of law. Congress passes the laws & the administration administers! them. If the President wants to see a new law, he or she proposes it to Congress, seeks to convince them to pass it!

A vision of the future: in the US, we have a partnership of government, business and education to welcome business investment, leading to loads of hi-wage, hi-skill jobs with education and training to help our citizens fill those jobs. All in the context of free markets and international free trade.

A vision of the future: the US government stands strong against aggression, especially by totalitarian fascist powers, and would never validate that aggression. And indeed, our own government is not in the hands of totalitarian fascist powers. #dumpTrump #theOpposition

A vision of the future: our President appoints only highly qualified public servants to high office. They have minds of their own and give him insightful and valuable advice. They are free, even encouraged to disagree. They hold their oaths of office sacred. #dumpTrump #leadersoftheopposition

Agreed @petebuttigieg.bsky.social.

But please focus on winning elections. Right now Trump owns the space advocating for higher earnings for working people. You need a story here. I say a hi-wage industrial policy and education reform. What do you say?

@sanders.senate.gov I love your soul, your passion, your commitment. You’re a great American. And you’re right about working people. But what’s needed is not a min wage hike but a pro-business industrial policy to bring in hi-wage jobs and education reform to train for them. Ditch the socialism.

This is deranged. Jan. 6 defendants were repped by one of the best public defender offices in the U.S. They were more likely to be released pretrial & got comparatively light sentences. SCOTUS threw out a bunch of convictions, which almost never happens. They got gold-plated due process!

I agree with those who say Harvard and others in academia are awash in neo-Marxist “critical theory” blather and that this situation should be rebalanced. But bending knee to Trump’s fascism is not the way to change. Organically, from the inside of the community is. Bravo, Harvard.

Be like Harvard, not like Columbia.
Be like Costco, not like Target.
Be like Perkins Coie not like Paul Weiss.

Courage is not easy, it can be costly but the stakes are existential. Show up on the right side of history or forever be a footnote to cowardice.
Disdain has no statute of limitations.

You could be a powerful voice @jbpritzker.bsky.social, but you need a positive message to #theworkingmiddle to win. Needs to be a pro-business industrial policy and education reform to create hi-wage jobs and skills to match.

Opinion | I’m a Rust Belt Democrat From a Swing District. Anti-Tariff Absolutism Is a Mistake. (Gift Article) Instead of reflexively condemning tariffs, Democrats should embrace them as part of a smarter strategy to revitalize American manufacturing.

The focus here on industrial policy is good … and, it’s not about tariffs except in exceptional cases. What’s needed is industrial policy that encourages investment, brings hi-wage jobs, and educational transformation to teach skills for those jobs . Not tariffs.
