1000%. Not just misogyny but also homophobia. Both of explicitly and implicitly (see how the woman faculty chair and student rep were treated at BoT mtgs…)

Check out this fly boxing away a parasitic wasp who is trying to lay eggs in its abdomen.
I've watched a lot of fly behavior, but never seen anything like this. Makes you wonder how much we miss by studying lab organisms in isolation from their natural threats.

After #POD24, I'm really curious about this: to those who are active users of AI and, particularly, those who are promoting AI in the classroom, how are you accounting for the environmental impact of AI? Shouldn't we address the harms before we widely embrace this in education?

Happy to be included in this alternative #assessment starter pack! 6 years at a narrative evaluation-based college forever changed how I think about teaching, learning, and assessment. Now I’m using various modes like #specsgrading and #ungrading in my Neuroscience and First-Year Seminar courses.

*Lecturer is a "media commentator" with an anti-woke ax to grind and no real qualifications to teach students
*Students said content was one-sided, so much for intellectual diversity
*This is the vision for higher education

What “Project 2025” Would Do to America The Right has developed concrete plans to make America into a much nastier place for anyone who dares to deviate from the white Christian patriarchal order. That’s what is on the ballot in November

There is no doubt “Project 2025” would transform America into a much nastier, much more dangerous, much more hostile place for anyone who dares to deviate from the white Christian patriarchal order. Those are the stakes.

Rufo is laying out the next steps the far right is going to use the centrists within the democratic party to demonize all opposition to the fascist agenda, and people are still pretending this is not happening
believe these people when they tell you what they are and what their plans are.

The political right: endlessly attacks higher education, casts professors as liberal elites and students as Marxist and antisemitic.

Also the political right: why is the public losing confidence in higher education? It must be DEI and lady presidents.

Ben Sasse, runs a university in a state where the government regime has actively muzzled the ability of faculty or students to talk about race and gender. Sasse has done absolutely nothing to defend state suppression of campus speech.
And The Atlantic editors did not see this as disqualifying.

After Roe fell, I recall being *expressly* told that anyone who needed an abortion on medical grounds wouldn't be denied and that assuming they would be was irrational and hysterical.

And now there's been two stories in the past week of women being tortured instead of receiving medical care.
