I get it under historical calls as the defender just slipped. But you could envision defenders doing this on purpose if sliding in front of the ball handler is an effective way to trip them or hit the ball. You gotta call that, fouls donβt have to be done on purpose and he clearly fouled him.

Or IOW, if this valuation is right, Apple's top-end bug-bounty for top-tier security research, despite their popular image as being generous, is still about an order of magnitude below than the offensive market

So this story is super duper interesting for a whole ton of reasons, but one big one is its a very rare glimpse into the private valuation of high-end exploits held by major defense contractors

Most people on Bluesky donβt get that, they think the government will just print more capital from thin air. Economics is not a thing people on the left understand (and to be fair, not a thing MAGA-land grasps either) Not sure if thatβs due a failure of our educational systems, or families, or what.

Yeah I already posted my last time I had to massively ramp down. Outside of a carefully curated feed Iβve curated the toxicity and anger was too much for me to consider it a net positive in my professional or personal life.

Bluesky is a fairly angry place. My feed isnβt terrible (with a lot of work!) but still angrier than any other SM I engage with.
And God forbid I go into explore to find something! Itβs all fascism and boycotts and the world is ending or mindless drivel.

You might be a better man than meβ¦ I donβt mind judging people without reading all the bad books, watching the terrible movies, etc. I had a friend who was going down a 9/11 conspiracy hole who offered to be βopen minded and dialogueβ if Iβd watch some 15 hour YouTube βdocumentaryβ. Batteries containing their own cellular transmitters? Gee, what could be wrong with that. Crazy stuff in this article, would like it more if it had more specifics (the product/vendor name, some non anonymous quotes). But strikes me as plausible. www.msn.com/en-us/news/w...

I tried Mastodon but it was SOOO painful to use. Itβs like saying βuse the Internetβ, because of the individual servers and inconsistencies and fractured nature. I donβt think itβs ever going to get to mainstream, might as well just be on Discord or WhatsApp groups. (In my experience)

Google sold Blogspot so my stuff for fifteen years is kind of orphaned now. Any suggestions for how to export that content to another platform? I pushed the pages out to XML with the image content but donβt know where to bring it to, want to repost and start writing again.

One downside of the Twitter Elon hijacking and resulting exodus to Bluesky is you have two platforms functioning like echo chambers.
That has empowered people to take more extreme positions and be praised for it and vocalize hostility towards those who think differently.
Not a good trend IMHO.

Itβs too bad but I canβt really get on Bluesky anymore. Despite my attempts to focus on tech/Vc/founder/friends itβs still filled with non stop, Sky is falling, political rants.
Yes, there are some abuses happening. Bad things happened last administration too. This will pass. Ranting isnβt helpful

This is the first (public) example Iβve seen where traditional advanced security engineering was applied to an LLM. Itβs about time!
I donβt know why LLMs exist in a vacuum and other fields are always sidelined. Security, QA, rules/oncologies, etc. It doesnβt need to be all or nothing, hybrid FTW

Pass some sort of balanced budget/constrained spending rule. Spending should either balance (or if we love perpetual deficits) at least not exceed the rate of GDP growth. The deficit is going to bankrupt the country and our kids if not dealt with, & politicians exit before the consequences come due

Modify the 1970βs law giving the president such unilateral power to modify tariffs. Make them like other tax laws, something passed by congress.
Implement merit based hiring/firing and pay in government, so the best went to work there and theyβre paid/promoted appropriately (& can be fired if bad)

Modify FOA laws to include consequences for agencies and directors who disregard them. (Current law has zero consequences, so many agencies just ignore or shuffle them around until theyβre sued and a judge compels an answerβ¦ but usually the petitioner just gives up)
