The funny thing is that they weren't quite like James Bond in that regard, although at the same time they both loved women, though there's only one lady that's in their hearts!

Whilst I didn't fully realise things at the time, with hindsight and more awareness on my part, there's something kind of absurd about stereotypically depicting Irish people to still be, uh... Whatever that is 400ish years later, as whilst there were many rural parts, we did still have electricity!

Musing on it further, Ireland was not too long after coming out of a recession the year that episode was released, and the Catholic Church still held way too much influence. It wasn't till around the mid-90s that the Celtic Tiger roared and Ireland became a much more modern and secular country.

She'd probably be described as "a bit of a ride" in Ireland, which in this case refers to her being attractive, rather than the other meaning!

Interestingly, whilst she was born in England, she has an Irish mother. Ironically though, there aren't very many redheads in Ireland; I could count the number of them on 2 hands at most, but probably closer to one!

As for her looks though, she's definitely quite attractive in that ep!

I'm reminded of the James Bond-esque episode, and also the Voyager eps where they do a sorta send-up of Flash Gordon... I bet they enjoyed doing those eps!

Those "Irish" ones in TNG and VOY though... eesh. I didn't understand in my youth, but nowadays, they make me cringe!

Vic Fontaine was legendary. Also, I'm reminded of that ep where Sisko explains why he doesn't visit Vic's because of the attitude towards black people back then, despite it not being like that at all.

That's the same ep where there was that heist thing going on if I recall correctly!

I can definitely understand the feeling... You want to see how they're doing, but the hurricane was such a disruptive/damaging thing to the region, it's tricky to bring it up, especially as there doesn't feel like there's a good time to ask!

Noice... I don't think that I'll ever be able to get even close to that amount of Duke Nukem stuff! I wouldn't fancy competing with LGR anyway as he'd be the one I think that likely has a lot of Duke stuff whenever I think about someone who isn't a part of classic or modern 3D Realms/Apogee!

A quick search confirms that I wasn't imagining it... The North American versions have holographic (shiny) box art. This particular example is from Amazon Canada.

I ended up getting the Atomic Edition rather than separate boxes for each part because it's a space-saving measure!
