at this point, looks like i’m forced to take a lowkey staycation, except i still have to go to my day job but at least i can catch up on sleep. and whatever else it is that non-computer-having non-artists do.

ok so they’ll have to keep the thing for like 3-5 days to transfer the files to a more stable SSD.
after that i might think about upgrading to a new custom tower that runs windows 11, which would set me back another few days.
following up from yesterday,
i took the comp over to the geek squad and good news is the files are retrievable.
turns out there was this broken piece of plastic that the port prongs have to rest on. if i hadn’t found that in the nooks and crannies of my tower i would’ve been focked.
so worst case is i've lost whatever psd files i've been working on for these last couple weeks.
how long i'll be out, idk, hopefully it’s less than a week.

anyway looks likely that i can recover all the data and put it into a new drive.

i mean i do have a terabyte backup, just haven’t updated it for couple weeks,
