I remember Dennis Bachelor telling me the story of the 1956 bird when I was at school (many years ago). I will always be grateful for his encouragement of my interest in birds and Natural History.
Happy New Year Marc.
Merry Christmas Marc, I'm already looking forward to next season to see what surprises it offers.
Looking forward to getting a copy of this, you just know it's going to be good if you have done the artwork Richard.
Thank you Andrew.
Thank you Andrew.
Are the Annual Reports still available in printed form or just as a download now?
Great to have them breeding locally Marc, long may it continue.
Great shot Nige.
Good to see you again yesterday and catch up Dan, great video of the Spotted Crake too, better than I managed to get.
A definite highlight for me too Marc, I always hoped to see one so I was over the moon when I finally found one at Sandwich Bay this year, and ended up seeing 3 or 4 during the season.
It was good to catch up again today Marc, and thanks for your help. Great to be able to get shots of a mating pair today.
Well done Marc, it's nice that your dedication and hard work are being rewarded.
Well done Nige, I was taking mine in the rain this morning. Glad you found one.
Thanks Marc, the light was awful but I hope to find one again but in the sun next time.
I took a chance on the weather this morning, which didn't go well, poor light occasional showers and a steady breeze, not great for looking for Damselflies!
On a positive note though, I finally found myself an Aurantiaca phase Scarce Blue-tailed Damselfly at SBBOT, a first for me, so very happy!!
Well done Marc, hoping to catch up with some myself this week.
Great find and photos Nige, hopefully another new species to become established in the UK.
The same in my garden and down at Sandwich Bay today Dan, they seem to be having a good year although I suspect numbers are no doubt increased due to migrant arrivals too.
Nice to see 8 Red Kites circling over the garden and drifting North at around 10:00 this morning.
Well done Nigel and great photos too.
It beggars belief what companies like this will try just to get their own way!!
An interesting read Dan, and nice to see habitat improvements rather than habitat loss for a change
Ours are usually at the end of this month, but I think a persistent young Heron may have an impact on them this year. Hopefully they will spawn overnight and avoid predation!
