I guess what Iβm saying is, just because some people fear dogs, doesnβt mean that there should be no easily accessible areas where dogs can run free.
Because protecting both dogs and people who fear dogs is not particularly hard. Many cities do it very well.
If the discussion is about whether people should prevent their dog from bothering others in general public spaces, I donβt know many people who would disagree.
The problem is that there are increasingly debates around making public spaces entirely dog free or at least very limiting .
You were implying that frequent deaths caused by dogs makes a fear of dogs completely rational and not a phobia.
But if you look at the numbers, such incidents involving dogs, are not frequent. + most incidents are caused by certain situations and a handful of breeds.

Iβm a dog owner. And I know a lot of dog owners. I donβt know a single one who would have a problem with this.
As long as green spaces have places for dogs to run around and places where people who donβt want to interact with dogs donβt have to = all good
Are you saying there should be no dog ownership?
Iβm saying that the statement that dogs βfrequentlyβ kill humans is innacurate.
But we can rely on emotions more than numbers. Not sure weβre better off for it though.
Feel this. Up at 7.20 this morning and thatβs a massive win with my 3 month old.

But:
- people are responsible for their pets as they are for everything else they do.
- parks and open spaces should have areas for dogs and areas without. Youβre free to go to a dog free space and to avoid spaces with dogs.
Simple solution.
In 2016, dogs killed 45 Europeans, which translates to an incidence of 0.009 per 100,000 inhabitants.
In 2019, 835 Europeans were killed intentionally by other humans.
In 2022, 20,600 people in Europe killed by road vehicles

Why does there need to be a choice?
Amsterdam handles this really welll with both dog areas and children areas. Parks like Sapharti use urban planning to solve simple problems (like bridges made of metal grids that dogs donβt like to cross).
Also if your children fear dogs thatβs a you problem. π€·
I quit all social media except for LinkedIn over 10 years ago.
As a person who values their sanity I didnβt want to engage with any other social platform.
But as a marketer whoβs seen whatβs possible when you get on a channel when it first lifts off, Iβm intrigued.
Letβs see where this goes!
