Why is @jamellebouie.net so good at this? He's a frustratingly competent political analyst. Just extraordinary.

Ok I decided to pull the video.
Democrats who voted no: Dan Bronoske, Melanie Morgan, Addison Richards, Kristine Reeves, Alicia Rule, Clyde Shavers, Joe Timmons, and Amy Walen.
Senate Bill 6346, "establishing a tax on millionaires", just passed the Washington House on a 51-46 vote after more than 24 hours of floor debate.
51 to 46. We did it. #waleg

There's definitely some wiggle room, but the Republicans currently hold a two seat majority in the house, even half of these seats going from D to R would be a big deal.
Controlling the house matters on its own as well!
One of the many things I appreciate about @staterepjuliareed.bsky.social is that she posts Cliff’s Notes (Julia’s Notes?) of #waleg floor debates, from the floor, in real time, that condense hours of eye-rolling, sanity-destroying GOP gibberish into a convenient, informative, and entertaining format
I agree with everything Robert says here and support all of these challenges!
I also think Katie Wilson's win has encouraged strong challengers to run against moderate incumbents. If she could take out an establishment favorite then so can they!
At a very high level that about covers it! More on her background here.
I donated yesterday myself, we don't have enough progressive primary challengers so always try to support if I can.

holy shit
Mosquito fleet act advances in Senate 45-3, but is hobbled by Sen Liias’ poison pill ‘striking amendment’, which strips out lots of good stuff.
Kitsap State House Rep Greg Nance rips Liias in this Facebook post, which has since been deleted.
Issaquah City Council has a vacancy we'll be filling soon. Applications for appointment close 4/1. We have a growing majority focused on housing, walkability, and transit, and want to keep that momentum. If you're an Issaquah resident who's ready to help build a better Eastside, apply or reach out!
“.. Asked whether Americans should be worried about retaliatory attacks at home, Trump acknowledges the possibility. ‘I guess,’ he says. .. ‘Like I said, some people will die. When you go to war, some people will die.”

In our case it was a point and "dog." Mama and Dada came at different times, but when it did happen we could tell the difference from the babbling.
Press gave Biden far worse coverage for a small number of American soldiers dying while leaving a war than to Trump for a similar number dying while starting a war for no reason. It makes you think!
someone transported here from 1995 with a layman's understanding of the Republican Party - "they like low taxes for the rich and aggressive use of the military" - would be more correct in their assessment of the party than many ostensibly savvy pundits working right now
Nothing that happens in this war matters more than the fact this is the worst violation of the Constitution in U.S. history, an illegal war crime
Unless Congress impeaches Trump this weekend, and it won’t, then we are a dictatorship, full stop
Here’s the thing: a President openly contemptuous of Congress & willing, unilaterally, to recklessly and illegally commit the US to wars of aggression is an existential threat to the Republic, *regardless* of whether he can ultimately explain his acts to Congress.
The demand must be impeachment.
Do we have a Constitution anymore, or is it just optional? Because if it’s the second thing it opens up a lot of options about what to do with these guys
Rico is lying, plain and simple. @mayorofseattle.bsky.social should’ve fired him a million years ago. The next best time is now.
Absolutely. I'm not even trying to be judgmental in saying he needs to resign, just that you can't hold his position in the legislature or the Dem caucus if you are going to show up to meetings visibly drunk.
Hard not to wonder if this is why the house killed the lowered BAC limit!
Joe Fitzgibbon should resign for this and if he doesn't resign he should be removed as majority leader.

Just realized that if Democrats leave this corporate tax break in then Brian Heywood will cite it to try and get normie Democrats to oppose a tax on millionaires. It's a trap Senate Dems are laying for themselves and should be taken out.
