All the electricity capacity is already used up, GLA tells developers
Posting this again. Not enough electricity left to build affordable homes in 3 west London boroughs, because all capacity has been used by a data centre.

HOW TO SAVE WATER AT HOME
Install a rain butt to collect rainwater to use in the garden.
Fix a leaking toilet โ leaky loos can waste 200-400 litres a day.
Use water from the kitchen to water your plants.
Avoid watering your lawn โ brown grass will grow back healthy.
Turn off the taps when brushing teeth or shaving.
Take shorter showers.
Delete old emails and pictures as data centres require vast amounts of water to cool their systems.
In a new digital twist to environmental individualisation of responsibility, the UK government is now advising people to โ[d]elete old emails and picturesโ in data centres to help with the current drought. www.gov.uk/government/n...

BBC among media misreportimg/exaggerating scale of asylum protests
Median protest is a few dozen, below 100.
"Usually Several hundred at a time" is false.
- should say *occasionally*
< 1/10 protests have 200 people
"Sometimes thousands"
I dont think a single 2025 protest had > 2000 people yet

Tweet by Bristol post reporter
400 counter protestors vs 15 fascists in Bristol
And yet it is the latter who are painted as expressing the "legitimate grievances" of "the people" by the mainstream media and politicians
This leads to emboldening and mainstreaming and it is a top down effect

The AI bubble is so big it's propping up the US economy (for now)
Plus how American professors are fighting back against the AI onslaught, a backlash over AI models in Vogue, and more.
Analysts show that capital expenditures on AI were so big over the last 6 months they added more to the GDP than *all consumer spending*. That growth is offsetting pain from the tariffs and slow job growth.
So the AI bubble may be propping up the whole US economy. What happens if and when it pops?

Yesterday the Pew Research Center released a report based on the internet browsing activity of 900 U.S. adults which found that Google users who encounter an Al summary are less likely to click on links to other websites than use 's who don't encounter an Al summary. To be precise, only [my emphasis] 1 percent of users who encountered an Al summary clicked the link to the page Google is summarizing.

โAIโ is not simply creating a cognitive crisis in learners; itโs also failing to deliver on its own terms (pedagogical โefficiencyโ) bc it demands that those still committed to educational quality devise nonsensical workarounds, turning our classrooms into bizarre Rube Goldberg learning machines.

we need to remind them their "tech experts" are employed by the "Let's blockchain the genocide" organisation.
