Nebraska's members of Congress are voting to gut Mesicaid funding which will impact everyone's access to healthcare when our community's clinics, hospitals, & nursing homes close.. .not to mention the impact to local medical professionals' employment. Have you called, yet? #neleg
It is mechanically not possible to bankrupt Medicaid.
Unlike Medicare & Social Security, there’s no pot of money for the program where spending stops if it runs out. Cutting ppl off Medicaid doesn’t leave more for others.
Republicans are cutting Medicaid because they want it to cover fewer people.
I continue to be struck by this language of “in accordance with the president’s priorities,” which treats the executive branch as an extension of the person of the president, and not a mechanism for instituting the will of Congress
Instead, I hope you awake today with renewed dedication to your oath of office and that you vote for the promise of all our country's people.
