There are very few politicians who I respected as much as Mayor Turner. This is such a profound loss for Houston.

At what point do we just understand people who say this as liars? Like he ran on it explicitly and they cheered when he said it. They knew the cost and either agreed or didn’t care

I see that electoral coalition building requires some level of compromise and I hate that, but I stubbornly don’t concede that we *must* abandon each other/our most vulnerable among us to make “them” into “we”. I hang my entire political framework on that tent pole, impractical as it often is.

Sure, this “there’s only two genders” business is bigoted, yeah. It’s also just incorrect. Intersex people exist. Trans and nonbinary people exist. Just say you hate them and keep it moving.

Also trans people are God’s children as much as anyone else is, fearfully and wonderfully made just like the rest of us.

I have been a private school hater since age 8. I personally greatly benefited from starting out private. It should not exist. I screened out private school supporters when I started dating for keeps. I want to be a parent soon. I am so scared about what’s happening with public education in Houston.

My therapist specializes in treating black women with ADHD. Finding her was a bit of a miracle. The way her system is set up, appointments have to be scheduled one at a time, and I budgeted last year for seeing her about biweekly. I have not seen that blessed woman since February 🙃
