finally got cpu upgrades for my server in today, tried to get the best possible single-threaded performance while still having enough threads to host multiple games ^^ were on 2x e5-2667v4's now, until i can build a newer platform server

how the fuck is this timeline even real lmao

i waited all week for new cpus to come in, just to find out they arent supported by my server's motherboard, nor do they support dual cpu configurations at all

fuck you intel and your fucked up confusing ass xeon SKUs

the playstation 2 is the best console on the planet that brought with it the best design aesthetic out there

update: evga is sending me a replacement fan on this 5 year old card, they really were the best we had man :(

my center gpu fan nearly caught fire due to destroyed bearings last night, so i pulled it apart while drunk, removed the fan, and zip tied a case fan to it lmao...

i think its time for an upgrade

truth be told, once this project is over, and i can move to a different tool to replace the one i am having issues with, i can probably move over entirely and use it as my daily driver

vr support is getting good, all of my other tools work without issues, etc.

i gave linux a try for a week again, but unfortunately some critical tools i use don't have support, causing me to have to resort to windows for a huge chunk of my work right now

its *so* close to being usable 99% for me though, its literally one tool

this world is so close to being ready for release but i cannot for the life of me fix the lightmap noise on one of my large objects :(

some people just have to hate on others for absolutely no reason and its so unattractive

i dont normally post about super personal stuff but i learned i have something called RSD (Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria) from ADHD which causes me to have trouble with a variety of things, especially socially, and likely extends to why i have so much trouble putting my work out there...

i stopped having conversations about a lot of stuff im interested in or working on because i feel a lot of people (at least in this community) feel they know everything and talk down to people constantly instead of trying to have a fun conversation sharing ideas

im not really talking much about the downsides of the pro controllers, there are a lot and i dont use them regularly for those reasons, however tracking occlusion is not as bad as it used to be, was my point in my original statement

sure, a quest 3 wont be accurate when tracking outside of front cameras, but its much, much better than it was three years ago

wha? this kinda hasnt been an issue since the quest pro released x.x imus have gotten really good and pro controllers even have their own cameras on them for tracking
