It's too unfocused. The relationships are too complex." Mithrun: "But if you do that, the punchline won't make sense." "The punchline?" Mithrun: "The fact that I was the illegitimate one, not him." Kabru: "We don't need that bit either. Ideally even a child should be able to understand it.'

Kabru: If we summarize it...it will be easier to show the danger in demons. Kabru hands the backstory back to Mithrun as a smooth ball. "Its a very tidy shape now." "That's fine." Kabru: "The world doesn't need to know personal things like that. How have things been with your brother since then?" Mithrun: "Not bad."

Kabru (and Ryoko Kui) use the pages of The Delicious in Dungeon Adventurers Bible as a workshop for paring down overly complicated first draft character backstories to their essentials in service of the story you're actually trying to tell.
