It was a busy week last week. I turned a pile of rough sawn lumber into a pile of nice smooth lumber, into a pile of lumber stuck together. More cutting boards and coasters coming soon!

A bit of radio silence from me last week as my folks were visiting. It was their first time in Nova Scotia. I think they liked it.

If you can afford it, build that dedicated shed. The delayed start on woodworking projects will be worth it, in the long run, if the new space opens up larger/more project possibilities.

I urge Canadians, news organizations, and officials to boycott Musk’s platform. I dont want to host bots forever—Bluesky is decentralized, transparent, and free from billionaire control.

It's gonna be big! Lots of room for trimming down, though, as I glued some less than perfect pieces to the outside to pad it out and leave extra room for trimming.

Yesterday was a bit of a clean-up and prep day in the shop. Today, I'm milling some hardwood shorties (not quite off-cuts) for another round of small items like cutting boards, spatulas, and coasters. Trying to build some inventory!

I hope all of this Canada vs. USA fervor doesn't make us lose sight of the fact that it's actually everyone else vs. the rich, not country A vs. country B.

I finished the show Shogun last night, and I can see why it won so many Emmy awards. The twists in the incredibly well written story were truly surprising, and the performances were fantastic. An entire essay could be, and probably will be, written about the design elements.
