This session showcases bassist Hartwig Nickola, a prominent figure in the Berlin music scene since the 1980s. Nickola performs alongside Rainer Frey and Bernhard Wöstheinrich in a genre-bending set. Nickola describes his unique musical approach as 'riding his bass through all genres, from classical and rock to pop, jazz, and "free stuff".' Dirk is at home in a variety of musical genres, working as a songwriter, loop artist, singer, and rock producer.

It was a fully improvised set with no overdubs or pre-recorded parts. These pieces were sourced from live recordings, they may contain some clicks and digital dropouts.

The Kunstwerkhalle, a former car workshop converted into an art exhibition space, retains the unique atmosphere of its past while providing a sprawling, inspiring environment. This setting was the perfect backdrop for the performance, allowing the musicians to give full expression to their music.
