in 'The Where' garn47 animation i basically reverse-rotoscoped luffy going Gear 5 onto Car. this is what it looks like from another angle.. i made him do that just because i thought it would be really funny to myself and friends, then floombo wanted to make it part of a full animation

to be clear stay on ur anti-psychotics if you need them. being able to get off of them without major drawbacks was specific to my case of psychosis where the main thing fueling it in the past was a big fear of it that i no longer have thanks to professional help

i can't stress enough that ANIMATION IS ART! even if it's a long, tedious process to do. as hard as people try to say otherwise, there is no right or wrong way to animate if you're actually making it instead of letting a neural network do it for you, sucking out any expression in the process
its disgusting to see how companies truly view animation, a mere tool for profit instead of the art form it truly is. it's so ironic in toei's case because one piece's art direction recently has been absolutely awe-inspiring. you just cant replace the people behind animation or art as a whole
i'd hardly ever mentioned ai-generated art before but this fucking sucks. ai has been creeping into animation where despite how clockwork the animation process is, every choice is so human and thats what makes it beautiful and worthwhile bsky.app/profile/cats...

almost forgot to mention the little rig i made for this!! i set up a driver to offset the UVs of the mouth/eyes based on how much you move the matching bone on his face.. i was able to replicate this behavior in unity as well so it all translates in-game :D
the plan is to, at the end of me finishing the fangame i want to build around this, release all the source code publicly for people to poke around and do whatever they want with!! assuming this project sees the light of day LOL.. it's smaller scale than anything else ive done game-wise so Maybe
the game itself is supposed to be the rough aesthetics of parappa 1 but with the quality of life/transparency of parappa 2, and the difficulty of um jammer lammy for the most part!
it took forever to get this all set up because i also made an in-game chart editor, what you saw isn't just a hard-coded map, it's fully featured with variable length lines + multiple lines :D
very random side project to exist alongside my 1000 other side projects: a parappa engine prototype! it uses a similar scoring system to parappa 1, so silly freestyling is included!!! im gonna try making a fangame around this.....
to end on a lighter note heres a silly 2021 video of that same cat from earlier.. her name is Sookie and while i lived with my mom (yuck!) she was a very cute and loving little kitty.. she'd sit on my lap while i animated :D she's actually the cat that's been on my youtube banner all these years LOL
it sucks and is often tragic but i still think its worth talking about every now and again so others like me don't feel so alone in these struggles.. i'm the wacky cartoonswoman but i'm still human. i know what its like to be deeply hurt with no outlet, that's the reason i dissociate
i dont really talk about it publicly anymore but dissociation is still very much a problem for me.. my dads shown me photos of me with him in places i dont recognize. someone in my close friend group passed 2 years ago and despite having known them for 6 years up to that point i barely remember them
despite everything i'd always been very good about archiving various moments of my life via my pictures + videos folders id been keeping since 2015.. they can be a source of Great Humor but also a source of Great Pain. heres a video i took of my family's cat using a ps vita in 2015
