It's wild to me that we live in a world where one of the best video game to movie adaptations is Sonic the Hedgehog.
And we're getting a fourth movie, and all the preceding three movies go kinda hard.

Huh. . .you know, one advantage of the LitRPG format is I don't have to work item descriptions into the narrative, smoothing them over into regular sentences. They can be separated into descriptive blocks of text. And that sort of takes a mental burden off me, the writer. Well done, brain.

This is something I'm taking notice of, and going to be thinking about when I work on my next #LitRPG novel this weekend.
It cost me the run, but I was staggered by the unexpected interaction of these mechanics.
Every run has stuff like this. Sometimes it breaks the game, other times it makes your run so much harder. But I'm in awe. There's always something new to learn.
Another example of strategy changes because of mechanics... My Cleric cat had Fury Heals, where the cat licks another injured cat 2-5 times, depending on luck.
Buuuuuut there was a blizzard because of an event. And licking a cat with Fury Heals made the target cat Wet, so the Blizzard froze them.
...and one component of Tri Attack is electricity. So I aimed Tri Attack with my Mage at a water source that BOTH cats were standing in. The electricity recharged the item for next turn, AND inflicted the Stun debuff on two enemies who were also standing in the water.
Last night I had a run where one of my cats had an item (Technology) that fired a laser beam across the map once per turn, as long as it was recharged by electricity between terms. The cat with technology was on the other side of the map from my mage with the Tri Attack spell...
Anyone looking to study item synergies, deep mechanical interactions, and a gameplay loop that makes you come back for more-that whole JUST ONE MORE RUN!!! mentality, you should played Mewgenics.

I think we're at a point in history where we can easily say that America is not the paragon of culture that it once was.

Thanks PS Plus! I'm playing through Cyberpunk 2077 again, and man, I love this game. Playing through it again, the changes that they've made between launch and now are huge. But it's still great. I never got the Porsche in my first playthrough for some reason, but I got it this time!
I'm on the other side of it now.
But focusing on my little dude, trying to put good stuff out into the world, do stuff I enjoy, while not letting the black dog get too close is the only thing I can do now.
Quite a few years ago, I couldn't understand how people could choose to not be engaged with the ills of the greater world.
Then I had a kid. Went through a second divorce. Spent almost two years in survival mode. Now I get it. If I let some of the bad stuff in, I will crumble. And I can't do that.
