Captain Novolin is hard as balls, not by design but because it was made by clueless developers. It took several playthroughs to realize you have to press down when jumping on an enemy to harm it! Yes I've played it multiple times and own it physically. (That PNG made me cackle when I first saw it.)

That's all anyone remembers from FF8 because it's the only thing that actually stands out.

It's very obvious that the game was meant to be final farewell to what once was in it's theming and cinematics and it makes me feel very vindicated that I shared the same opinion well before knowing this.

Also, why does no one ever talk about how this game actively glorifies a school that raises child soldiers for political assassinations..?

With Final Fantasy IX turning 25, I just want to take a moment to say how much it's predecessor is an anomalous wretch in need of euthanasia... that is all.

This song always chokes me up, even before I associated it with my spouse.

I was 11 when this game came into my life and showed me what a game could be. To this day it is everything I want in a video game and holds so much emotional weight for me that Melodies of Life played at my wedding. This is the one and only Final Fantasy to me. Thank you, Square.

Absolutely. Again, I wasn't really making a big statement, just saying as to why people seemed to be upset over these changes.

From what I gathered they were all onboard to do the series and were suddenly dropped and told they couldn't have any affiliation with it. Who knows. All I meant was that people are more upset over how actors were replaced, rather then it happening period.

A lot of this is due to the way people were replaced. Not sure on Panty & Stocking, but Hazbin Hotel has become infamous for how the pilot VAs were unceremoniously and rather curtly fired and most of them were banking on keeping said job.
