So excited to read this!
Call the question.
"Car cheetos" are my favorite flavor of cheeto.
I just slot 20 minutes of something my daughter calls "Blank Rehab" into my morning routine. I also mutter things to myself like "C'mon right big toe," "C'mon left hip." It's all so humiliating.
This is a truly excellent reference.
And people think historians never find the silver lining...
Never too late to admit you did the wrong thing, I guess. 🤷♀️
@rauchway.bsky.social Hello. I'm not entirely sure if I already did this or not and I'm not clever enough with this app yet to know the difference. 😂 Would you kindly add me to What's History?
Yes, absolutely!
The subject of my second book project! Really excited to be able to zoom into this conversation and eager to learn from others who are interested in the same stuff. Thank Chris!
Such a valuable resource! Congrats on this accomplishment!
Here for it.
Congrats Aviel! I'm so excited to read it. And, not for nothing, that cover is 🔥
This is such an brilliant idea for a book and such a brilliant historian writing it. Excited to read!
Until four minutes ago, I did not know how much I DO need my eels.
Grateful to KU News for writing up this nice little piece on my book. If you're interested in the Cold War, poverty & development, or postwar liberalism, I wrote this book for you! 🗃️
SHAFR historians, check your email! The Council on Foreign Relations has pledged to contribute $5,000 to SHAFR's grad student travel fund if 30% of SHAFR members complete the CFR's survey on historic foreign policy decisions. Just takes a few minutes!
I strongly endorse this analysis. Thanks Eric for write (and sharing) this.
I am sending you strength! FWIW, all the hassle actually did produce a good result for me. So, remember, even when it looks hopeless...
I teach the history of US foreign relations/Cold War at the University of Kansas. I wrote a book on the history of the concept of global poverty and I'm especially interested in "global" thinking/practice after 1945.
Thank you! So helpful!
I am developing a "launch strategy" but for anyone casually looking for a revisionist history of US Cold War social politics on this last Friday morning of summer, it's publication day for "The Poverty of the World"! global.oup.com/academic/pro...
Well, as a Gen X'er, I can say, we had a lot going against us.
What a moving find! Makes me think of some of Arlette Farge's discoveries...https://yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300198935/the-allure-of-the-archives/
Gorgeous cover for a book I am genuinely eager to read/assign/learn from. Congrats Julia!
Also, my union isn't on here yet but this is a good thing that happened today in the world of higher ed! #WeAreUAKU lawrencekstimes.com/2023/09/20/u...
