People need to remember that the Dunnes workers were out on strike for nearly two years before the government acted due to public pressure. So this government promised pre-election to enact OTB, and have reneged thus.

They won't act now unless there's overwhelming public pressure.

They didn't build 40,000 homes last year and they're not going to do it this year but somehow they are going to build 300,000 in the years 2025-2029. These are not serious people.

When the Dunnes Stores workers stood against apartheid South Africa almost 40yrs ago Bishop Desmond Tutu called them the most dangerous shop workers in the world. But Dan is right. The idea that Ireland can lead is odd if not delusional. Best not to try.
