you don't have to identify with every part of your chart. there is nothing wrong with you if you don't. i think there's so much opportunity for self reflection in the areas of our charts we find the hardest to comprehend. that is where the juice lies.

i like complicated. i like contradictory. that is what makes people, people. human. and interesting.

astrology should make you smarter, make you ponder, make you question who you are, and how you've been living. if it were easy to boil down one's personality into essences, then people wouldn't be as complicated as they are.

the thing about me is that i don't want easy astrology. i don't want easy descriptions, or quick and fast insight into personality traits. i desire a type of astrology that makes you think. that challenges the perception of your own identity, of your own experience, and of your life.

i find it very interesting that agrippa associates truth with Mars, considering other authors, such as Firmicus, associate it with lying? yet nothing cuts deeper, or is sharper than the truth. interesting.

another quote that speaks to the thema mundi/mercury/cancer: "that which is begot is the same in specie with the begetter; and this is the power of the Word formed by the mind." mind. blown.

so always speak of yourself fondly... or at least try to

im ALWAYS thinking of the fact that mercury rejoices in cancer in the 1H of the thema mundi - agrippa says "the conception of the conceiver and that which conceiveth, is the Word", to birth oneself is to speak it, to speak of oneself is to create oneself

agrippa talks about self understanding as the ultimate way to know God--to know thyself, is to know God. makes sense why the Sun exalts in the 9th house.

without proper dedication to this art, you're just going to deceive yourself, and others. just bc/ you've seen 3 people with the same moon sign have similar qualities, it does not make you an astrologer. PICK UP THE BOOKS! YES, YOU DO NEED TO STUDY THIS! YOU NEED TO READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shall presume to work anything in magic, shall work in vain, and deceive both himself and those that believe in him, and with danger incur the displeasure of the divine powers."

for those who think studying from books and theories is not a necessity for learning astrology, Agrippa would seriously disagree: "Without the merit of sanctity and learning, beyond the dignity of nature and education,

presenting on agrippa tomorrow for class, obviously bringing in the decans so we can *apply* what we learn, something rare and non-existent in academia when it comes to the history of magic

funny how during agrippa's lifetime, there were rumors about him that his black dog was a familiar, "a demon in animal shape" - he literally has ruler of MC (MC 9th btw), in the 12th, venus. ppl was TAWLKING about him for sure
