Honestly, it should have been the dynamic push pull of two albums at the center of one man’s career (like the book). One for me, and one for them. Use the BIG FUCKIN SONGS from Born in the USA, the big concerts, the e n e r g y (!!!) as the connection / driver / vibe. Use Nebraska as the fulcrum.
I am a huge Bruce fan. It’s taken me a couple of viewings, but I think what killed Deliver Me From Nowhere is not the acting, content, or story… it’s the directing. Too many modern cliches. Not proper use of incredibly dynamic music. Choosing plotlines that are irrelevant (from the book) etc.
