The 7 person orgy in a hotel room while a child sits in a soundproof box designed to look like a spaceship episode of Nathan For You should be sent into space as a communication from earth to the aliens.

I too remember discovering indie alternative and it all seemed so new and fresh compared to everything else. Really a great and too brief time in ones life

So sweet the local DJ who spends every weekday from 2-6pm playing the pixies and modest mouse and popping in every other song to say this is Milwaukee’s new music station

So a really cool thing has happened—I just signed on as a Poetry Editor-at-Large for Texas Review Press today! This means I’ll have full freedom to acquire one poetry book a year and to edit one-on-one with the author throughout the whole process. I’m so so excited.

Monthly Art Guide: It’s Not Just About the Holidays Harleys as art, a great sale of local artists and lots of verbiage from Allis Art Museum.

This will be my last roundup for Urban Milwaukee. I have the itch to write bolder criticism going forward, some of which is exercised in the Charles Allis writeup here.

Help! I'm in a book slump! ISO: a fun experimental jaunt; a thick winter classic; a writer I've never heard of with a great debut. Small presses preferred!
