Lighting in the office is low. And having people you trust and are comfortable with nearby whether or discord or in a vc reduces the social panic.

Anything that reduces color intensity - colorblind modes especially or things that reduce flash.

Always turn off motion blur.

I adjust the brightness slider to be slightly above what the game wants you to set it at to reduce contrast between light and dark.

Game volume near off.
