My advice to people who want to do graphic novels is to write and draw a lot of short stories. Finishing them will teach you a lot more than plugging away at an epic
This is always my first advice! Finish a 1 page comic first. Then do another… then another… soon you’ll draw a 5 pager, then 10… before you know it a full 22 page issue. It’s like the Rocky training montage except you’re drawing comics and it’s way way slower. 😆 (second advice is STRETCH EVERY DAY)

If you are going to eat rocks, make sure there are no poisonous berries in the nearby vicinity. You probably want to wash the rock to be sure it is free from berries altogether.
