Consumer choice is the priority here, bringing back the ability of each and every American citizens to sit in the back seat just like mother asked, and yes I'll be quiet and look out the window for the rest of the drive, and I'm sorry sir no I won't pinch my brother any more, and

Organic chemicals entered agricultural use after WWII in the form of pesticides, fertilizers, and miscellaneous use like desiccation. The result is a world dripping with residues. The stuff is *in* us and *of* us now. Yet, we really have no clue what this means.

Trump plays chess in the 4th dimension, which of course is time, whereas you and I only play it within the 3 spatial dimensions and so can never progress from one moment to the next. Our chess matches are stuck in an eternal present whereas only Trump has beginnings and ends.

Great thread. This dynamic -both the situation and the critique of it - is very familiar to anyone who's studied the history of monarchies. Having an old/sick/incompetent ruler, which happens at some point in any monarchy, means factions and patronage networks intrigue to wield real power.

Imagine being a career officer in the chain of command on Trump's boat bombings. You have deep moral and legal concerns about them. Your faith in leadership is shaky. Then you see Pete Hegseth tweet out a sadistic cartoon about it. Must be awful.

Thoughts on this:

The second Monday in October arguably is now about that relationship, because there are two irreconcilable versions of what that day should be called and who it should commemorate, and partisans of each version often criticize the other.

By the way, Sahan Journal is a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to reporting for immigrants and communities of color in Minnesota.

All of their reporting that I've seen this year is unusually excellent.

I've heard that in some countries there are even judges that, despite being trained legal experts, are incredibly dumb and malevolent and issue binding legal decisions that are laughably amateurish.

Accountability for crimes is a big umbrella issue that Democrats could use to connect topics that voters might otherwise struggle to see as related - Epstein, Saudi Arabia, personal corruption, unconstitutional power grabs, ICE terror, and so many more.

when I was young, i used to wonder how people like this would fare in life, as they didn't seem suited for gainful employment. it turns out, the internet allowed them to accumulate a massive audience of similar idiots, enriching them and turning them into a presidential advisor
