Also I am obsessed with horror movies but none of them scare me. The only director who could ever scare me was David Lynch. RIP to the greatest to ever do it.

One of my least favorite things about the Internet Age is how American physical spaces don't really exist anymore, they are flattened into the same simulacra of cities we can hazily remember from a different time. David Lynch's settings feel so REAL to me.

I am from the Pacific NW and live in LA and have spent a lot of time in suburban Las Vegas and those and every city in his art were drawn with such EMOTIONAL TRUTH.

I still don't know what to say about David Lynch. How can you possibly find that words to talk about an artist and thinker who is so singularly profound? But something I keep coming back to is how good he was at portraying PLACE.
