I watch PBS’s Nova religiously and learned last night that Oxford has developed a new vaccine for malaria that has 70-80% efficacy and it just got approved by the WHO and will save millions of lives in the years to come. Sharing some good news bc it tends to get lost out there.

How do we feel about recycling old Tweets that got good reach?

On one hand, it seems like cheating.

On the other hand, I’m so rarely actually funny that it seems a waste not to redeploy my three or four good tweets from the past 15 years.

It’s hopeful. It’s so much less Musky. Perhaps we can really have the old world again. Perhaps this time, we will avoid a decent into madness.

This will take time, but it’s already feeling better - less toxic, for sure, but even that takes time to accept. It’s hard not to brace yourself for an assault from Blue-checkmarks that will not come. One expects to be forced to see a MAGA post or a Catturd comment, but so far, all is well.

People are trickling in, many confused by the transition.

After getting our bearings, job one seems to be to find familiar profiles, begin to rebuild communities. The search is stymied by people’s usernames being different. Sometimes I can’t quite recall a persons previous handle.

I have been welcomed by some other Twitter Refugees here in this new, undiscovered country.

The platforms are similar enough to feel familiar but alien enough for the difference to be noticeable. Things are called different words. Buttons are in odd places. This will take adjustment.
