Sollors' writings on African American literature, race and ethnicity, multilingualism, and cosmopolitanism shaped the field of #AmericanStudies, constituting a capacious body of work that retains its analytic significance and continues to prove valuable for making sense of contemporary challenges.

#SaveTheDate: On Oct 6, you are cordially invited to join us for an evening with Werner Sollors (@harvard.edu). On the occasion of the publication of "The Werner Sollors Reader," the literary scholar will visit @amerikahaus.de to discuss his work with Daniel G. Williams (@swanseauni.bsky.social).

We are grateful to all participants and faculty members for their contributions and the supportive atmosphere. A very special "Thank you!" to our hosts at Goethe-Institut Montreal, most notably Nadja Furth and Nanna Henning, for their support and for providing this fantastic space for our event.

💡 We look back on a rich academic and cultural program. Beyond many intriguing talks by the participants and faculty members, a city tour through #Montreal, a picnic at Mont Royal, and an excursion to Kahnawá:ke gave participants the opportunity to get to know some parts of the city and its vicinity

The international summer school brought together 16 (post-)doctoral researchers from 🇦🇹 Austria, 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇮🇹 Italy, 🇵🇱 Poland, 🇺🇸 the USA and 10 faculty members, also from both sides of the Atlantic.

🎓 From July 16 to 23, 2025, BavarianAmericanAcademy's 13th Summer Academy took place in Montreal, QC 🇨🇦, allowing participants to engage with the topic "North American Narratives of Crisis and Repair, Past and Present."
