Here's a 4 minute clip of Kirk giving a full-throated defense of gays and dressing down an *actual* homophobe. Look, I'm not a MAGA guy. I'm not even American. Hate him all you want, he clearly had his faults. But please hate him for something actually true.

You don't have to feel bad for his death. You can even be glad for it. I'm just trying to warn you that publicly tap-dancing on his grave is not a wise move.

This is all a Pandora's Box that should never have been opened.

This is not WW2 and your opponents are not Nazis. Unless you have some actual proof beyond hearsay and conjecture that I'm unaware of. Was Kirk a hateful person? I don't know. I certainly disagreed with a lot of what he said. But the precedent has now been set to respond to vague threats with force.

Even *if* he did, did he ever actually follow through? Did he tell others to go out and do so? That would have been a crime and he'd have rightly been jailed for it.

I've seen plenty of people say truly awful things should happen to people like me. Do I now have license to hurt them in turn?

Do you have proof he said that? I've seen multiple clips and tweets of him openly welcoming gays into his movement. There's considerable evidence that that claim was made up, and people have had to publicly apologize for repeating it. False accusations can clearly get people killed now.

The parallels that concern me are the delight and eagerness of people to use violence to silence opposing viewpoints. Now might be a time for self-reflection, not celebration.

But most think of the National Socialist German Worker's Party when they hear that word, not the American branch that most have never heard of. Either way, the casual use of that word, throwing it around this frequently, at best devalues it's meaning. We're all on a very dark path.

Nazi has a very specific meaning, as in someone who believes in the tenets of National Socialism and Fascism. One of those tenets is, ironically, using violence to silence political opposition.

As a whole, everyone should be more precise with their wording.

I guess I've made it as an internet 'artist' (I'm not really an artist, for the record) because I just had someone leave a comment along the lines of 'your stuff's good except for -insert central concept of all your art- that ruins it'.

I'm still only in the first act (of 3) but so far it's fairly free to explore and go in whichever order. The open world's a little smaller than Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim, but still get's that vibe down pretty well. I'd say it's definitely worth a shot, particularly for its price tag.

Have you tried Tainted Grail: the Fall of Avalon? It doesn't have the exact level of modularity as Morrowind, but it's one of the closest to an actual oldschool RPG I've played in years.

That's sadly the world we live in now. Hopefully there's a silver lining, though, in that with as bad as all the pseudo-corporate-government neo-fuedal-slop is getting, people are just kinda walking away and starting to go back to the way things were done 10-20 years ago.
