The research aims to co-create alcohol-related information and resources to help women who are trying to get pregnant, pregnant, and/or mums of young children find clear, honest, and consistent information and advice around alcohol, and tools to help them make their own decisions around drinking. The resources will be designed to reduce shame and stigma associated with women's alcohol use. People who take part will be compensated for their time, with up to £75 shopping vouchers, and travel and childcare costs will be reimbursed. There are not requirements around how much or how little people drink - we are interested in hearing a diverse range of voices.

In the last century, countries have increasingly attempted absolute prohibition of drug use, often via penal measures. Despite global action, these policies have not deterred drug use: we have reached record levels of “abuse, illicit cultivation and production and manufacture of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances”, as acknowledged at the 2024 UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs. Drug trafficking networks have become increasingly sophisticated and violent, and deaths related to drug use have increased.

Interaction effect between treatment expectancy from escitalopram (baseline) and treatment outcome.

Important study on expectations in psychedelic research: for patients with low pre-tx expectancy about escitalopam, psilocybin worked better than escit., but no such effect for pts with higher expectancy for escit. No similar effect for expectancy about psilocybin.

Agreed. Fundamentally, this whole debate comes down to "what is a good death".

Psilocybin can be effective for existential distress at the end of life, and should be among the choices people have as it is in other jurisdictions.
