here’s a story I like because it conveys how. Frustrating the process is. “Hey I know you’re trying to take care of your family after a medical emergency but you’re in danger because you haven’t had any income in a month!~ your job said they’d take you back—oh wait actually they won’t, good luck!”

The worlds first book town 📚

The town of Hay-on-Wye in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 completely dedicated to books and has 26 bookshops but only 2000 residents! That’s one bookshop per 77 people! #Travel #SaturdayVibes #saturdayfun

#SaveSpeech

KOSA and the Stop CSAM act are both extremely high priority

Lawmakers are looking to repeal section 230 and they are getting phone calls ENCOURAGING reps to do so!

We need to call and drown out the opposition so we can save a free and open internet!

Please continue making calls to Visa and Mastercard, because they are working alongside conservative legislators to crack down on free speech and expression!

A dual pronged offense requires a dual pronged defense!

it sucks that you need to use a vpn in the first place but it's also incredibly easy to install one. legitimately takes about 20 seconds, and that's including searching for a free one

I genuinley hate how much people emphecise the DCI, because in the long term, they don't matter.

Their establishment is rushed and their animatronics are gone by the end of their 1st game

Ultimately I can’t change anyone’s behavior and it’s too tiring to hold resentment of people for their choices but. It doesn’t hurt to think about the actions you take as an artist and consider how you engage with the world. Considering people you’ll never meet will help your perspective/health too

Sort of.

She didn't have any end goals.

But she was getting a lot of minors (myself included) fixated on adult topics.

My problem with her:

She believes she's above making mistakes.

But will chastise anyone who does.

I only hope she took responsibility and improved.

It’s unfortunately very true, it’s an effect of being a consumerist themselfs, being taught that you “need this stuff” because it’s cute and trendy, like the acrylic stands and other stuff =[

I say all of this out of personal experience, a mix of being in the middle of trying to deprogram the very consumerist aspects of my identity, and a general interest I had in merchandising

interesting. So the windows key had become the alt key and the old alt has become a "command key"

Honesly? "Control command delete" makes more sense than "control alternative delete"

The funny thing is, limiting light pollution would lead to better lighting design in public spaces anyways. Spreading out light everywhere without thought means the light’s in your eyes and you can get much better results by controlling the light with a wall wash or a floor wash anyways.

Basic light pollution diagram showing four different streetlight set ups ranging from more light pollution on the left to less light pollution on the right. The most pollution option, labelled "very bad" is a street lamp with a round uncovered bulb on top, making a sphere of light in the air. The next option, labelled "bad" has a tiny cap on top, that limits the upward pollution a bit. The "better" option is mostly uncovered on top, limiting pollution above the streetlight. The final option, labelled "best" has a full shroud overtop, limiting the light to only below the streetlight, where it is needed for pedestrians and vehicles.

Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

Also, I think a "naturally existing larger greater evil" doesn't have as much horror, intrigued or even realism value as "human being becomes larger greater evil".

Monsters don't just exist. Monsters were once men. And I find THAT idea much more terrifying.

I suppose I understand why writers use the devil as a stand in for a larger evil force because it's a very understood symbol of ooooo evil guy. But the fact that it is so recognizable makes it uninteresting and robs a lot of the unique identity from representing evil in media.
