Demoralized can't even begin to describe how I'm feeling.
"No, New Wars."
Its so hard to understand the scope and scale of the Federal attack on Chicago, led by ICE and CBP.
I put this map and table together, highlighting the most significant incidents from 9/19-10/25. The area shown is roughly 30 by 35 miles with incidents in all corners.
Officially done with my time at Burnt City Brewing and the District Brew Yards.
Bitter but on to the next thing I guess.
Given the world, who the fuck knows what "the next thing" is gonna be.
The Federal government has attacked Chicago but Chicagoans are doing a great job documenting what is happening. However, I do not feel that there is a solid timeline of key events forming, and so I put one together
Here is a 🧵with details on each, including sourcing and videos. AMA
Oh, also, still not investing anything in Bluesky and still just squatting.
As far as I'm concerned, Bluesky is like that episode of South Park where they burn down Walmart and go to TruValue and then they burn that down too because the wrong lesson was learned.
The country is crumbling under fascism while I job hunt.
Everything feels so fundamentally broken.
Having a particularly hard time this morning convincing myself that life is not just a cruel joke.

Punishment Park (1971)
People thinking that political violence is bad but cheering on state violence when the state has the largest monopoly on political violence.
oh, word is out, eh? Yeah. On the job hunt.
I will be without a job come Oct 17th.
Ten years just gone.

I am begging people go find the movie Punishment Park (1971) and realize that the US has been on this road for a long time because we never yanked the wheel hard enough.
Just saying, Mastodon and the Fediverse are right there. And not subject to the whims of VCs.

Coming up on my 10 year anniversary at my job.
I'll be honest, I'm less ecstatic than I thought I'd be.
Instead, I simply am increasingly isolated and growing more firm and concrete in my disdain of all things. ✌️

Popping back up for a second as I am in the middle of my yearly Burd's #31NightsOfHorror and about to embark once again to the Music Box for their 24 Hour Horror Marathon.
Thought to post my #Letterboxd list for this year for anyone who might be interested.
Happy Halloween 🎃

Save the date, Horror Fans! THE MUSIC BOX OF HORRORS 24-hour marathon will be taking over our screen on SATURDAY OCTOBER 19TH at Noon!
Our first wave of frightful films include JAWS, THE SPIRAL STAIRCASE, THE CRAZIES, and ZIBAHKHANA (aka HELL'S GROUND)
I'm once again making my plea to the void for 4K releases of The Big Sleep (1946) and Young Frankenstein (1974).
Perhaps a wishful thinking sort of Letterboxd list but the happiest place on Earth I could be is watching any or all of these films in the comforting dark of the @musicboxtheatre.bsky.social
Still not convinced I have much to add over here but I'm going to continue to rely heavily on Letterboxd as a crutch to put myself out there.
So, enjoy one of my favorite lists dedicated to appreciating The Horror Duology. A concept I strongly defend. Love a great horror film combo.
So yesterday, I fell off my brew deck, broke my glasses, busted my face.
I'm pretty tired still and would normally do a more fun write up of my Letterboxd Last Four Watched this week. Instead, just gonna post my actual full week. It was a pretty good one (right up until yesterday😮💨)
