Picked up Demon's Souls at an open market my fiance dragged me to a few days ago and finally had time to set up the PS3, only for it to be unable to load the tutorial after 30 minutes. Probably the PS3, but I dunno for sure as I gave my sister all of our PS3 games so she could sell them.

Probably sticking with Duchess but I have to say that the Undertaker has a great design + portrait.

Had to check, Dreglord in JP is 瓦礫の王, roughly "Lord of Rubble". Seems like it's conceptually reminiscent of the Deep (深み), but leans into a more visceral aesthetic. Nice to see the idea revisited.

For what it's worth. Though it may be a little harsh to say. But if what you fear came to pass, were they really a friend? Though we talk little, I doubt you're such a poor judge of character to have surrounded yourself with such people. It's an understandable worry, but you should be fine.

For instance, Godzilla Minus One, a movie with a suicide attack pilot as the protagonist. Not once is "Kamikaze" used. But every instance of 特撃 (abbreviated form, read as "Tokkou") is translated as Kamikaze because it's more readily understood in English.

Something else about the Kamikaze thing that I just really want to say - it was a military unit that specialized in suicide attacks, but suicide attacks themselves are called "special attacks" (特別攻撃). Kamikaze as a general word for suicide attacks is pretty much exclusively as a loanword.

Racism and historical ignorance aside, suicide attacks were extremely devastating, and the pilots that executed them gave their lives for a government that used them as an expendable resource. It is far more about valor and self-sacrifice, something this man will never know of himself.

I've personally never had to use SNAP, but my sister did after moving out. And SNAP benefits expiring means a significant loss in sales, translating to cuts in hours and layoffs. Not my own concern, but disastrous for others, especially those already on SNAP. Very unpleasant situation.

Memo at my workplace offering guidelines on interacting with customers that may be enraged over the situation with SNAP. I work in the meat department so I've seen firsthand how the prices have gone up this year alone. If someone wants to blare on about the government, I am so not discouraging them.

Briefly describing it, 's about modern day witches with a witch hunt as a backstory. The contrast between the cheery MC who escaped the hunt and her master and friend that were deeply traumatized by it is really nice. It started rather comedic, but it's touching on the darker elements too.

Mentioning this again. 9 chapters now. *Really* good. Doesn't seem there's a group translating it into EN though. I can read it fine, but...
At any rate, I might have to order a volume to support the mangaka.

Swedish actor Björn Andréson (Death in Venice, Midsommar) has passed away. Though not specifically tied to gaming, he was an incredibly popular model for several decades worth of games and anime in Japan! Indeed inspiring Alucard, Griffith, and SMT Louis Cypher and many more. RIP.

Thought that Lutnick guy glorifying the idea of making generations of families into factory workers was dystopian and anti-art. But that Miller guy nigh word for word quoting Nazi ideology about art and aesthetic is a good reminder of the utter baseness of those in power right now.

My fiance had planned on taking me on a surprise trip to a Sony concert in February, but the concert in Portland was canceled without explanation. Was gonna feature Bloodborne music, among other entries. Ah well.

Wrist has been hurting quite a lot again. It's been about 2 years since the initial injury and half a year since symptoms first occurred. Been about a week, starting to hurt less now. Is a little concerning that it wasn't a one-off recurrence though. Possibly permanent damage.

Block list has tripled since yesterday. Been a massive spike in troll accounts. Scum.

Well, "enshitiffication" isn't quite the right word for it. But the government is making an effort to worsen the user experience here by spreading toxicity, inciting fury, and encouraging others to do the same.

Government made a bunch of accounts here yesterday just to troll and spout propaganda. Flood of new accounts sharing it around, doesn't seem a coincidence. Either way, the government itself is attempting enshittification of Blue Sky. Sincerely hope it gets shut down and rooted out.

I've still been working on other things for game dev like trying to establish a map size and area connections, so my progress hasn't been a full zero. But it's nothing that contributes to getting a demo ready, which should be the priority.

I had been continuing to work on routing challenge runs for Pokémon games, but it started to feel very pointless so I deleted everything. I should be investing my time in learning to draw, but my drive is always gone when I can finally sit down, like after work. Can't get anything done like this.

Back when I played Dissidia, I detested it when some rando questioned the rules of tournaments. I wasn't top 5 in the country for nothing. If I was an athlete, I would have hated it if people made the thing I devoted my life to more about politics than merit.

Some shithead set up a table at the entrance of my workplace for a right wing petition to ban trans women from sports competitions. Irrespective of the matter of trans rights, plebians have no business dictating the rules of sports competitions they play no role in. That's for the participants.

Not really what I anticipated on paper, which is pleasant.

Initially it was for art reference, but I've found taking nude pictures of myself to be rather satisfying in itself. It would've been nice to have done that in a forest with my girl as the photographer. Asking was a little embarrassing, but she was cool with it! Just a shame it wasn't feasible.
