I don't think it should be ignored, but for a 60+ year old movie franchise where the lead periodically changes appearances and doesn't get 60 years old, I think a simple acknowledgement without explanation should suffice.

I'd completely forgotten that Nakadai was the lead in Face of Another. I picked up Criterion's box set years ago but haven't actually seen any of Teshigahara's other films. I'm hoping they will put the set out on blu-ray since they say they're remastering some of the Eclipse releases.
