I have a whole list of pencilled-in stuff but I consider it adaptable until I am actually reading the book - Zagreb changed on the spot in Chapters because I happened on a contemporary in-print novel set in Zagreb in their fiction in translation section

However my joy would be shortlived as a video game enemy would possibly shoot my barrels.

Like many people, when I became aware of the Brent oil futures market my immediate thought was "maybe I should buy some barrels of oil", followed by an effort to figure out how. If I had followed through, I would be in big profit, assuming there is a market for like four barrels of crude oil.

Step 1: Was it us?
If yes - investigation over. If no - proceed to step 2

Step 2: The type of missile used is only possessed by the US, Britain and Australia. Was it Britain or Australia?
If yes - wtf? If no - return to step 1

I'm not sure you would expect better but I am disproportionately annoyed by the ongoing claim that they are still investigating the attack on the girls' school. Reminiscent of the comms strategy of another defence force that sometimes finds itself having to answer atrocity-based questions.

It's still one of the most unbelievable moments in Irish legal history.

Dancing with the Stars review: A ludicrous decision hits the contest’s credibility Paudie Moloney has had an open-ended get-out-of-jail-free card in the RTÉ competition

Overseas Traitors fans may be interested to note that the Irish public has insisted that Paudie is going to win the celebrity dancing competition, against all common sense www.irishtimes.com/culture/tv-r...

My favourite group is wealthy southern European families in August. It's too hot in their countries at that time of year now! They're here and they want quality wine and non-packaged cultural experiences! They're wearing linen!

Might keep careful data for the entire year and make an animated bar chart of 'what kind of tourists are in Dublin'

Haven't seen 60 European students yet this weekend despite being in town. It's possible they have left - the early St Patrick's Day cohort (wealthy American retirees) have arrived but the later cohort (European citybreakers and US study-abroad students from European cities) aren't over yet.

On 16 Sept 1642 Rosa O'Doherty signed this letter. Here it is for #InternationalWomensDay , 384 years later. This is possibly a unique surviving example of a 17thC signature of a #Gaelic Irishwoman. (The letter is now in @ucdarchives.bsky.social as part of the Franciscan collection)

Anything less guaranteed to sell than a "prominent rugby player's autobiography" never gets a hardback release in Ireland. Instead we have the magical 'trade paperback'/airport paperback, which is the size of a hardback but not hardback. Unclear why.

Yeah tbh I know both American expats in Ireland and Irish expats in the US (and of course golfers from the television) and it is a natural thing. My apologies to the Cobra.

It's oddly neither one nor the other though - or it's primarily and initially American with some British pronunciations poking through.

I suppose 'doing an American accent incompletely' is the accent version of the rest of the shtick in that it's something a 12 year old boy might consider cool

Managed for about a decade to never hear Andrew Tate speak until watching a video just now where he says he's too smart to read books. What's going on with his accent!!!

Even Brazilian period oppression drama Secret Agent, set in like 1977, features an enormous and very colourful box of Rinso at one stage, I noticed the other day.

60 European students are cold and wet. They are not built for these conditions. 60 European students have bought cheap umbrellas at the first opportunity and are taking up even more pavement area.

Chotiner: How long did you stay with Calypso?
Odysseus: Seven years
Chotiner: As her prisoner?
Odysseus: Yes. I was bewitched.
Chotiner: And another year with Circe?
Odysseus: It's complicated.

It is the season of 60 European secondary school students in Dublin. Turn a corner and you might encounter 60 European students. Looking at art? History? A park? The salad bar near my office? Good chance 60 European students will be there.

In my case in particular I would like authors to be more careful about the names of tiny villages in South Uist
