YES!! exactly! NPCs are also so fun to play with because you get to fully decide what to do with them. I've found myself having a lot more fun writing Croa as an NPC than a WOL!

croa is originally a non wol even tho i *do* have a wol version, but her as an npc is just so much more based and less complicated ( i get to have her fit in anyone's canon part of the lore this way and it's been doing me wonders for creativity)

exactly!!! It's such an easy way to show off deeper lore in a way too? Like, I've been LOVING Althea's updates on Sharlayan and Aether currents, it genuinely makes the world feel alive in a way! I miss long-form so bad but until I find someone patient enough, this my my guilty pleasure 🤭
