This also means most people that ARENT okay in Heaven STILL think they're fine, and dont do any work on themselves (like Adam) or are expected to be fine no matter what happens to them (like Lute and Sara). It's a fucked up system that no-one percieves as bad because of its physical reputation alone

There's a theory floating around now that what determines whether you go to Heaven or Hell is your own self perception/guilt, and while I don't fully buy into it I think that symbolism plays a part. Most people in Heaven are probably happy to keep themselves distracted, they've nothing better to do.

The only thing I'm disappointed in the new season of Hazbin Hotel is that the intro is the same. I was hoping we'd get a hijacked Voxtech rendition of the intro for season 2 to set the tone, but oh well.

I know a lot of people think she's hot and like I WOULD agree but I'm gay I can't fucking tell. She's just so. Scrumptious to me. Watching her crash out has been so, so rewarding.

I think I'm just biased because it's rare to have a character who changes their name During the events of a narrative, and that kind of change being treated positively by the story is an easy trans allegory. I know Vaggie isn't trans but she's getting the honorary trans rep status from me lmao

It's tragedy, inevitable tragedy. Like gravity. GODDDDD poetry. But on that note, if Lute doesn't become a fallen angel by the end of the season I will riot.

No one cares about him and no one cares about her, and his idiot kid is in charge of the army she's actually better equipped to lead, and all her higher ups are convinced the active threat at their doorstep can just be talked into reason when she (thinks) she's seen the opposite.

She finds comfort in the raging misogynist not because she hates herself, but because hating people WITH him was the only thing she Could do to find connection. It was her only purpose and it was her only emotional outlet. And now he's gone and no one cares.

She's expected to just BE better because she's an angel. She has no soul she has no redemption. She has no support network and she has no friends. Adam was the closest thing she had to a genuine emotional connection and that's. Just plain tragic.

If Sera was in her shoes and Emily died instead of Adam, she'd be having the same kind of crashout. But because of the way Heaven's systems are structured, Sara's cornered and CAN'T see from Lute's perspective, while Lute is left cold and alone and unable to process anything that happened.

Her grief is Ugly, and Violent, and Messy, and Inconveniant. She's a problem because she's feeling anything but perfect. She's not being sympathised with, NOT because she's a murderer, but because her priorities aren't "the greater good" after who she loved and depended on most died in front of her.

Since the show has such an emphasis on restorative justice being better than punative justice (which is Charlie's whole arguement against what the Vees want) I can't help but draw a parallel to how Lute is Not being given that chance to get better because Heaven turned its back to her.

The way she says "yes sir" to her hallucination of Adam also speaks to this. Even in her delusional mind, her Ideal circamstance is being a tool for The Right Person, rather than... not being a tool. It's so pervasive she literally can't imagine herself as anything but a vessel for destruction.

Yes she's a genocidal maniac, but look at the way heaven treats her grief. She wouldn't be spiralling NEARLY this badly if anyone, literally ANYONE was trying to reach out to her like a friend rather than a tool or a threat.

Heaven is a currupt system that ignores it's own flaws, and angels aren't being treated as people. Emily was/is infantalized, Sara is constantly put under unspeakable pressure without any real support system or life outside her duties, and now everything that happened to Lute...

I think the reason Lute's song is named Gravity isn't just for the inevitability symbolism, but also because. It's about the gravity of her situation that no-one is paying attention to. The threat that the demons pose/the weight of Adam's death. It's all being brushed aside and it shouldn't be.
