This is a fair critique. I think I would be worried about that coming across more if not for the fact that he's done a similar narrative across a variety of settings (Black man kills enslavers, woman kills abuser, etc), which I do think helps

The thing is Tarantino is Tarantino and that's never a good thing, but I have to say I absolutely adore his "marginalized people enacting righteous, stupidly gory violence against their oppressors" canon. Inglourious Basterds especially, but truly all of them unfortunately

I would almost respect from a grifting standpoint if he intentionally wrote a book about a kid who sucks so much and refuses to acknowledge the truth about his friend because it would make him uncomfortable, and then after everyone started being like 'INSPIRATIONAL HOPE STORY' he was like uhhhh YUP

Because I went looking into these accounts.

Because when I started researching this video, I was ready to just cover Marcy's allegations and call it a day. It seemed pretty damning. The DMs, and the sponsorship and the catchphrases and the sockpuppets all painted a clear picture.

But something was bothering me.

So that's the story, right? Jimmy Squibbles: plagiarist, saboteur, manipulator. Open and shut. Support small creators. Unsubscribe from Jimmy.

But I haven't been fully honest with you during this video.

Basically guys, Marcy's allegation is that Jimmy Squibbles didn't JUST copy her content. He stole his ENTIRE brand from her and then systematically worked to suppress her career so no one would ever find out what he did.

And THEN the hate comments start coming in! AFTER the Blinkwave stuff!!! Marcy documents at least THREE other instances where she was in talks with a brand or a collaboration and it mysteriously fell through. And EACH TIME, Jimmy had some connection to the company or the creator involved.

And according to Marcy, she later heard from a mutual friend (and yeah, this is secondhand, she acknowledges that) that Jimmy told the Blinkwave team that Marcy had a "problematic past" and was "difficult to work with." Difficult to work with???? Y'all.

"Hi Marcy, unfortunately we've decided to go in a different direction for this campaign. Best of luck with your channel!"

Four days. What happened in four days?

Well. On March 5th, Jimmy Squibbles posted an Instagram story with a Blinkwave rep at a creator event.

"We love your energy and think you'd be a great fit for our upcoming campaign. Let's schedule a call for next week." That email is dated March 3rd, 2022.
