It's been a while since I read a book which went into detail on it, but I do remember laser color in the books is not standardized to match the weapon class. BattleTech lasers are also barely visible to the naked eye, so it may just be how the sensors color them in your display to make them visible.

I've seen a few different names similar to Yuri given to boys and girls, and it is a male name outside of Japan, but I've only ever seen Yuri specifically used as a female name in Japan.
