Christmas in February! My friend Seabrooke Leckie has come out with another fabulous moth book—and this one covers 1900 species of the tremendously diverse moth fauna of the West. Congratulations Seabrooke!

Two of my most favourite MPs in the same place.
@gordjohns.bsky.social is one of the most hardest working MPs I have ever met. The fact that he is lining up with @heathermcpherson.bsky.social doesn't surprise me.
They show up and do the heavy lifting for democracy.

The last our 2025 potato crop is going crazy (poorly stored) so I took advantage of the warm spring weather and planted them yesterday!

These social huntsman spiders are common in Australia—and spectacular—but luckily are harmless. Took this pic in Tasmania a couple of weeks ago

Deeply saddened by news that my friend Kirsty Duncan passed away today. I worked closely with her while she was the Minister of Science and the Chair of the Standing Committee on Science and Technology. I texted her on Saturday when I was at a Robbie Burns dinner—her favourite event of the year.

Christmas night at Chez Angus. We love singalongs - rebel songs and traditional tales. This is my all time favourite song from the great Ewan McColl.

Wonderful to hear this project has been completed—I remember talking about it almost 20 years ago at NCC board meetings. Sometimes good things take time! Thanks to all the groups and individuals who stepped up to get it done.

The weather has been crazy lately but I was still surprised to see this red-eared slider sunning itself in Penticton on December 14!

Maybe the subsidized exporters are making lots of $$? Apparently in Australia there was also a huge impact on the plastic manufacturing sector as most plastics are made from natural gas but the North America NG supply chain is more complex I’m guessing.

I remember a conservative Australian MP testifying before the House of Commons Natural Resources Committee about 7 years ago who warned that in Oz the main effect of new LNG exports was a sharp increase in domestic gas prices.

All highways linking B.C. Interior to Lower Mainland now closed - BC News the highway has become flooded at Sowaqua Creek and is closed in both directions from about six kilometres north of Hope to seven kilometres north of Merritt.

Reminiscent of the one in 100-year atmospheric river event that happened four years ago…

Carney 'will have to answer' questions about flip-flop on tax credit,… National Newswatch: Canada's most comprehensive site for political news and views.

Patrick Weiler is right--it makes no sense to give $$ to the highly profitable oil industry when we could be encouraging clean energy. The NDP fought these subsidies for more than a decade and thought the Liberals were finally onside, but now Carney caves.

Richard is not only a good friend, but a respected environmentalist and biologist, and was a committed Member of Parliament.

Richard’s support means a lot in this race, and will be invaluable as we work together to build a stronger, more sustainable future.
