She forgot how Akechi tends to just start trauma dumping without any real transition. So it went from harmless eavesdropping to… less harmless eavesdropping pretty quickly. But like, they totally know that she has Leblanc and Akira's phone thoroughly bugged. At least Akira does. He should know better, really. "I don't remember what my mother looked like." Akechi's voice came through Futaba's headphones. There was a pause. Maybe Akira made a comforting gesture? Or something? A hand on his knee, a nod to continue? "It was a decade ago, that she died. And possessions of any kind, including photos, don't last long in orphanages and foster homes. She used to say I had her eyes, but… I don't remember much else." Some shuffling. Akira and his nonverbal comfort… At this point, Futaba realized exactly what she was listening into, and pulled her headphones off. It's easy and it's hard for her to understand Akechi; she lost her mother too,but that makes him even harder for her to wrap her head around. How could he do what he did if he knew how bad it felt? She wished it was easy. That she could just blame Shido for everything and treat Akechi like an innocent victim. But he pulled the trigger, and that's something he can't take back or ever make up for.
