if you read to the end, wow! this is such a long thread! thanks lol lmk if you have thoughts on this. I've seen so many channels lose their edge, slowly becoming a "general channel" because they hire outside talent to fill critical roles. I do not want to do that, ever. It's the SimplySnaps channel.

And that's working for me, for now! Maybe someday I'll scale up and have other projects I can trust with different editors... but for now? I just feel like I have to do it all myself, because I'm what you're here for. And if my videos suddenly got vine booms and roblox sound effects, you'd leave!

But if you want or expect me to sell my soul to make infinite content, I can't think of anything more soulless. I would quit within a year. I do not want to make 24 videos a year, 48 videos a year, or 100 videos a year. I want to make whatever I am compelled to make this month. 12 videos. 12 months.

I won't sell you guys lies about VPNs or shitty earbuds. I won't post a video that means nothing just because I need to hit a quota. And I won't give an editor busywork so they can churn out slop so you guys have something to watch this week. That's what my streams are for, Snappy twice a week!

I couldn't delegate the channel because I *am the channel.* And when I see people aspiring to "hire an editor" so they "can make even more content" I just have to ask... WHY? You want to make more and more... so you can pay more editors to make even more? But where is the art? I don't understand.

My style, my BRAND, is genuine authentic work that comes from the heart. It's one girl talking about things that interest her, when she wants to, no matter who's listening. One day I'm doing insane challenges, the next I'm rambling about Waddle Dee's, the Sonic Heroes Manual, or SADX's water ripple.

My videos do not make much money in the grand scheme of things, but they do basically all make enough to have paid an editor to make them for me. If all I cared about was money, if all I made was "content," I could triple my output and make even MORE money, but then it wouldn't be SimplySnaps.

I could see myself someday delegating Snappy Supercuts to an editor I trust, but the "main videos" will likely always be edited by yours truly unless something seriously changes. The amount of trust, training, revisions and labor it would take to get an editor for my main stuff is just unreasonable.

The ONLY chance would be if a diehard SimplySnaps fan who understands my editing style and was skilled enough to imitate it wanted to basically volunteer their time, making pennies compared to what their skills are worth. Which I just don't see happening, realistically or ethically.

This might sound arrogant, but I cannot afford my own editing skills. If I paid someone else to edit my videos, the videos would have to be worse, because the amount of work, revisions and training it would take to get a SimplySnaps Challenge video from someone else would be thousands of dollars.

When I posted my first breakaway success, the most common comment was something along the lines of "I thought you had 100k subs because of the quality!"

Yeah, because I was (and am) a professional video editor with a background in radio and voiceover. Making a TOTK video was easy.

Would I like to make more? Of course! Has it dawned on me that All Shrines No Surface will probably be a year old by the time I post All Quests? Yes! But I would never, NEVER let someone else edit All Quests. Absolutely not. You'd have to kill me.

Telling me how I can delegate my editing is like telling a painter they can "delegate the painting." I am a video editor! That's what I do! I write scripts, I voice act, I tell stories all in service of MAKING VIDEOS. If I wanted to tell stories without video, I'd write a novel! But I edit videos!

I am an editor by trade, editing is something I am very hesitant to let go of. For five years, it's how I paid the rent. For the past three years I've been working in a different industry and that's FINALLY when I could start making videos as a passion again. I love editing. I enjoy it.

i hate content, i hate SEO, I hate manipulating the minds of my audience to keep them engaged one second longer.

I've had people recommend ways to "Maximize my content," to hire cheap editors and post "30-40 videos a year"
