Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) unveiled her new "Economic War Plan" where she called for the elimination of all corporate PAC money in politics. Ending dark money in politics has been a long standing goal of progressives and they seem to have found an ally in Slotkin on this issue.

You know what would help these folks… paying them living wages. Too bad you voted with the republicans on the fair wage bill in the Michigan senate.

Medicare for All isn't radical.

What's radical is that we are the only major country not to guarantee health care as a human right. Every other major country figured out years ago how to provide health care to all at a much lower cost.

Please don't tell me we can't do the same.

Hey Michigan! 🚨 Check out these job numbers: 53% of Trump voters work in industries that will be hit hard by his tariffs.

That means higher costs, fewer jobs, and economic pain—all because of his reckless policies. Don’t let the spin fool you.

The SAVE Act will only
allow people to vote if their birth certificate matches the driver’s license name.
Married women who took their husbands last name won’t be legally allowed to vote! Another republican attack on women!

Michigan GOP (and some sellout Dems) want to “save” restaurants by gutting wages—but say nothing as Trump’s mass deportations slash up to 50% of the food industry workforce. No workers = no food. Prices will skyrocket. If you actually cared, you’d fight this too.

Lansing Republicans are working around the clock to rip away paid sick leave benefits Michiganders are going to earn in a few days when a 2018 law goes into effect.

They want to force us to work while we’re contagious or a loved one is ill or in the hospital or dying. Shame on them.

Two panel meme. First panel shows a goose's head, with text that reads "me demanding that my state senator protect the minimum wage and sick time laws corporate lobbyists want to water down. Second panel shows the goose chasing a person and screaming, "Vote NO on SB8 and SB 15!"

Republican legislators are trying to gut the minimum wage and sick time laws that are set to take effect this month. We can't let that happen. #mileg

Another day in Lansing and Speaker Matt Hall still refuses to present bills to the Governor that would help firefighters, teachers and police save for retirement — along with a number of other common sense bills already passed. Make it make sense, Matt.

‼️ Word on the street is Detroit Mayor (and gubernatorial hopeful) Mike Duggan was on the phone with Rep Whitsett yesterday while she was en route to Lansing. Also, Duggan’s legal counsel was reportedly seen cozying up in Matt Hall’s office alongside Whitsett.

I spent my first four years in the Michigan Senate as part of the Minority Party.

The Republican Majority at the time kept us in the capitol after midnight many times—voting on bills that we didn’t like. 🧵
