I just finished another large, open-weave bowl. It is 14 1/2" diameter and 3" tall. On this one, I chose colors to represent a sunset. This piece is headed for the Second Street Gallery in Bandon Oregon.

As a social security recipient, I've been nervous lately, watching to see if my monthly deposit shows up. It always arrives on the 3rd, except when that day is a holiday; then it comes a day or two early. This month, it arrived on the 1st, even though the 3rd is just a normal Thursday. Anyone else?

With all of the serious news going on right now and posts related to that, I feel kind of guilty about posting anything else. However, when I joined Bluesky, it was with the hope that it could someday replace FB, so I'm sharing some photos of some glass artwork that I took to a gallery today.

I'm just hoping that we are able to continue having elections long enough to elect another 10 presidents. Also, 45 presidents doesn't include president musk. He and trump can fight it out for the bottom spot on the list.

trump is blaming DEI for the plane crash without any evidence. That's disappointing, but exactly what I'd expect from trump. What disappoints me more is those on the other side blaming trump's firing of senior FAA officials. That probably didn't lead directly to this crash. Let's be better than him.

If this type of design appeals to you, then a class with Ian will definitely be worth your time. He's an excellent instructor and you'll learn a lot. It's an intense class where every day is full, but he works hard to make sure everyone succeeds.

After I got home from the Ian Chadwich class mentioned in my previous post, I decided to try making a piece using the same basic technique and pattern, but adapted to 6-fold symmetry rather than 4-fold as was used in the class piece. This is the result.

In early December of last year, I had the opportunity to take a class from Ian Chadwick. These pictures show the results. The first picture is the project I made in class; It's about 9 3/8" square. The second picture is of a 6" square, using spare parts left over from the main project.
