Sad to hear about the passing of the Michelangelo of Movie posters, RENATO CASARO. The Man painted so many iconic posters, specially in the 70s/80s: CONAN, TERMINATOR, DUNE, TOTAL RECALL, DANCE WITH THE WOLVES, BLOW OUT, FLASH GORDON, RAMBO, NEVER-ENDING STORY, and the list goes on and on. 1/2

There is nothing easy about Making comics. There's nothing easy about making comics as a career.so... you know... cut yourself some slack Pron time to time. None of this is easy.

Never put down your own work. Is it perfect? Probably not. It rarely is. But you did something that very few people can do, and you should be proud of that. And you actually made a thing. That is always something to brag about.

There is no such thing as 'guilty pleasures', just things you like that other people want you to feel bad about liking so that they can feel cooler than other people.

I might not be your real dad, but listen, it's hard out there right now for creative people and if you're still making things and dreaming your dreams, I'm incredibly, fiercely, proud of you.

Paul was the artist on Fantastic Four in the 90s and absolutely killed it, but for me as a Swede his prolific output on the Phantom comics are what make him a legend. Ryan didn't JUST work on the American dailies, he also drew several full-length comics stories for the Swedish Phantom comic.

You’d be surprised- would make for a great reference book. I have a small hardback book that covers every cartoon of looney tunes/warner bros. Shorts. Phantom wiki has gaps of stories/plots etc.

Oh, and if the plan is still the plan at Frew and the stories are collected into a graphic novel, I have a timeline to add to the book, covering the time Phantom is in-country.

…He even complains in his notes (& #1995) that all the stories are in the wrong order.
I think his reports of these stories are within a month or two in 1973.
Frew printed the follow up/2nd story I did as the 4th release, with the shorter ones originally 3&4 as 2&3. Correct order on my website.

…so I wrote them in the hopes that most could stand up by themselves as a random little story, but still fit together if anyone was interested. The order stays consistent if you read the dates of the CIA agent putting the case together in ‘73…

This is true- I could never guarantee that they were going to be published in correct order, and it was suggested as a series while the first one was being made so it was tricky since that first story set some dates and details that would box me in a little…
