In an ideal world we would have a government statistical agency doing this work of counting college students

However Congress has banned the existence of a federal “unit record” data system bc higher ed lobbyists pressed them to

Wouldn’t want transparency and accountability after all

77 Nobel Prize winners are calling on the United States Senate to reject RFK Jr.'s nomination.

Scientists as political advocates Science, both teaching and doing, is under attack. The recent US presidential election of a person and platform with anti-science bias exemplifies this. The study of climate processes and patterns and...

Given the current political reality and the expansion of attacks on science, it is time for scientists to be more effective, forceful, and vociferous as their own political advocates. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Do not accept these things quietly. Repost. Repost. Repost. That’s how we survive the next 4 years.

Things have been hard lately. It’s important to check on our friends and allies. Think of one person you can check in on today. Reach out. Smile at a random stranger. Pay someone a compliment. Open a door for someone. Let’s still let love win.
